"This recipe blend makes perfect sense. Bananas Foster is a signature New Orleans dessert, and PJ's is a signature New Orleans coffee. The marriage of these two favorites makes for a truly delicious cup of coffee."

Historic New Orleans Restaurant Brennan's invented Bananas Foster during the 1950s, supposedly named for regular customer Richard Foster. At that time, New Orleans was the major port of entry for bananas shipped from Central and South America, and restaurant owner Mr. Brennan challenged his chef to create a dessert that incorporated the abundant imported fruit. Bananas Foster was the result. The original recipe consisted of sliced bananas sautéed with butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, dark rum and banana liqueur, flamed and served with vanilla ice cream.

PJ's Coffee Bananas Foster flavored coffee is now available to consumers. The feature flavor is packaged in an 8 oz. bag and retails for $5.35. For those who prefer unflavored coffee but can't resist Bananas Foster, PJ's Coffee also offers the original dessert. Coffee enthusiasts can look forward to signature Christmas blend, which will be available soon.
