PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans Expands in Maryland with New Store in Bowie

The international coffee brand celebrates with a grand opening & free coffee on November 5

NEW ORLEANS (October 27, 2020)— PJ's Coffee and Maryland make the perfect blend! The PJ's Coffee of New Orleans (PJ's Coffee) team continues its expansion in the Northeast with the opening of its first store in Bowie, making it the second location in Maryland. Franchisees Tyra and Michael Harris deliver PJ's unique, premier brews and kick off the celebration with a grand opening on Thursday, November 5 with The Prince George's County Economic Development Corporation joining for a ceremonial ribbon cutting.

Guests can enjoy one free 12 oz hot coffee or cold brew (while supplies last), and free PJ's Coffee swag and giveaways with the chance to win a prize pack or gift cards. For those who want to join in on the celebration virtually, PJ's Coffee will also livestream the event on their Facebook page, www.facebook.com/PJsCoffeeBowie.

With over 120 operating stores, including 4 international locations, PJ's Coffee continues to grow in the U.S. and abroad. In the first half of 2020, the brand saw a 15 percent increase in franchises awarded, outperforming the past three years of franchise development. The new Bowie store is the latest franchise in a lineup of new locations slated to open before the end of the year. The brand expects to open 48 more stores in 2021.

"Despite all the challenges we've faced this year, I think it's evident that the coffee industry is still going strong," says franchisee Tyra Harris. "We're ecstatic to be a part of a brand that has continued to grow, even with the hurdles of navigating a pandemic, and we're equally thrilled to be able to bring premier quality coffee to the Bowie community."

"PJ's Coffee is committed to bringing our customers the freshest, most delicious cup of coffee we possibly can," says PJ's Roastmaster Felton Jones. "We only use the top one percent of Arabica beans, sourced from farms like Finca Terrerito Farm in Honduras, and we're one of the few companies to small-batch roast coffee which is immediately bagged for the freshest possible taste."

About PJ's Coffee of New Orleans

PJ's Coffee of New Orleans was founded in 1978 by Phyllis Jordan, a pioneer in the coffee industry that demonstrated that better beans, superior roasting techniques, and pure passion for the art of coffeemaking mattered. In 2008, the company was purchased by New Orleans natives and brothers, Paul, Steven and Scott Ballard. PJ's Coffee serves a wide variety of hot, iced and frozen coffee beverages using only the top 1% of Arabica beans, as well as organic tea and fresh breakfast pastries. PJ's Original Cold Brew™ Ice Coffee is brewed daily using a special cold-drip process that protects the flavor and strength of the beans, while producing a coffee that is 2/3 less acidic – a process and technique pioneered by our founder and used for more than 30 years at all PJ's locations. Bags of whole bean coffee, single serve cups of PJ's Coffee and PJ's Iced Coffee Concentrate are available for sale in-store and online.
